Snow Tubing!

Last saturday we headed off to Scaly Mountain, NC for a little Snow Tubing!

What is snow tubing you ask?

Inner tubes + a ski slope + big mounds of manmade snow = snow tubing!

I took Brooke up first, and together we came down the bunny slope. At the bottom she promptly said "I want to go by myself". But Mommy wanted a turn too. So Mommy and Brooke went.

At the bottom she immediately repeated "I want to go by myself!" Now, the bunny slope isn't terrifying, but it is 150+ yards long and pretty fast. The first time I stood at the top I had a few mild butterflys. So I was mighty impressed that this little *3* year old wanted to go by herself so quickly. And she did!

And she never rode with Mommy or Daddy again that day....

Here's a video of her going solo. By this time it had gotten pretty warm, and the run had gotten slow. She rode at least 10 times.

This was *my* job all day. Haul her up the hill, help her slide down, walk back down the hill, repeat.

There was an *awesome* slope for the adults too! You had to be 42" tall to go, so Brooke just had to watch. Here is Erin conquering the downhill...

All smiles...

And me...

And another video...

Brooke loved to meet us at the finish line - so that she could go again!

Way cool! I love Brooke's pink snowsuit--good protection for her little cheeks!

Looks like fun! I actually just posted a video of Elizabeth sledding on our blog too. Apparently, they both wanted to go "all by myself"!
